2025 Date(s) & Information: Sunday, December 7, 2025. Register on-site at 3:30 pm. Race starts at 4:15 pm in the Village of Arroyo Grande. It's FREE to participate for all preschoolers through 6th graders! Runners will receive a jingle bell for their shoe to Jingle All the Way through the Village and chase the Grinch before the Holiday Parade! Pre-register at www.arroyogrande.org/catalog, or you can register at the event at 3:30 pm. Don't miss this fantastic kick-off to the Holiday season with the cutest race in the Village!
The City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department presents the Halloween Carnival Chaos & Maze!!! This is a 2-Day Halloween event at Elm Street Park (corner of Ash and Elm streets). Children of all ages and adults are invited to enjoy unlimited bounce-n-play (fees apply), carnival games for candy and toy prizes, food vendors, the haunted maze, and a costume contest. Tickets for the carnival and maze can be purchased at the Recreation office, 1221 Ash Street, or at the door. Arroyo Grande takes pride in the old-fashioned family fun that abounds at local festivals and the Harvest Festival is a prime example of this time-honored tradition. Held the last full weekend in September, the Harvest Festival serves as a tribute to agriculture, the area’s leading industry. Among the many attractions featured is a parade, toe-tapping entertainment, agricultural exhibits, and an array of food, games, and arts and crafts booths. The annual Diaper Derby takes place during the Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 27th at noon at Heritage Square Park, 201 Nelson St. in Arroyo Grande. This free event invites little racers ages 6-36 months to compete for baby shaped trophies! Register online at www.arroyogrande.org/catalog, or at the event beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Join the City by bringing in the holiday season with the Tree Lighting & Snow event held at Elm Street Park. This is a FREE event that runs from 5-7pm that includes TONS of snow and Santa lighting the tree at 6pm. The community of Arroyo Grande ushers in the holiday season with the Holiday Parade the first Sunday of December. The annual Holiday Parade typically begins at 5 p.m. at East Branch Street next to City Hall, then proceeds to Traffic Way and Branch Street. The City of Arroyo Grande Recreation Services Department along with the Arroyo Grande Lions Club have annually provided offered this community event since 1978. The Turkey Trot is a fun run for kiddos in Preschool through 8th Grade and offers prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place age group winners (girls and boys race separately). The distance begins for the youngest contestants at 1/8 of a mile and gradually increases to one mile for the oldest racers. First place winners receive a frozen turkey, second place winners receive a frozen chicken, and third place winners receive a frozen game hen. Bring the whole family for a day of fun at the races!
