Atascadero Printery Foundation

The Atascadero Printery has always been the center of the community. Originally built in 1915 to house the Women’s National Publishing Company, it was the main source of jobs and income for the fledging town. Copies of The Illustrated Review and the Atascadero News, as well as supplements for the LA Times and San Francisco Chronicle were printed here. Through the years the building served as home to Junior Colleges, the Masonic Lodge, County Sheriffs Office, and youth services. Restoration is now in progress to revitalize this historic site in the heart of Atascadero. Make a difference by joining a volunteering session! We meet on the third Saturday of the month from 9AM - 12PM to help maintain the property with lawn mowing, sweeping, gardening, and prepping for events!
