Chinese Brush Painting

Watercolor, Lingnan artist, Master James Tan, presents traditional Chinese Brush Painting combined with western watercolor techniques, in a 7-day intensive workshop experience. Interested students are encouraged to have brush handling and moisture control skills, and have familiarity using various types of raw and sized xuan papers, traditional natural, hard hair brushes (orchid bamboo, horse hair) and soft hair brushes (goat or sheep), and mixed hair brushes. Chinese “chip” paints, or Chinese or western watercolor paints are used. Bottled Asian ink is required.
