Food Donation Pick Up Drivers will pick up food from different grocery stores around the city of San Luis Obispo to bring back to 40 Prado Homeless Services Center. Each day, there is only one pick up location. Pick ups are Monday through Friday, usually from 8am to 9am. Volunteers must have their own vehicle with a valid drivers license and insurance. Capslo Adult Day Center provides adult day care for seniors with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and respite for their family caregivers. Capslo Adult Day Center is located in Paso Robles and is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Individuals must be 18 years or older to volunteer at this location. Opportunities include: being a client companion, by providing one-on-one interaction with an elderly client; being a music volunteer; and assisting clerical staff with filing, mailings, and data entry. The 40 Prado Homeless Services Center is a 365 days per year facility that helps individuals and families improve their health and stability and move them towards self-sufficiency. Volunteers are vital in the running of this program. Individuals must be 18 years or older to volunteer at this location. The shift time for breakfast servers is 7:45am to 9:15am daily. 40 Prado Homeless Services Center opens a Warming Center when the forecast shows less than 38*F and/or 50% chance of rain. Volunteers are especially needed on these nights to assist with the additional clients to help them check in and get settled and warm for the night, supervise sleeping clients, and assist staff, as needed. The 40 Prado Homeless Services Center is a 365 days per year facility that helps individuals and families improve their health and stability and move them towards self-sufficiency. Volunteers are vital in the running of this program. Individuals must be 18 years or older to volunteer at this location. Volunteers are needed to assist with the evening shift, supervise sleeping clients, and help prepare the shelter for the day shift. Multiple three hours shifts are available: 8pm to 11pm, 11pm to 3am and 3am to 7am. Shifts can be modified to fit your availability.
