On the first Friday of each month, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, a peer-facilitated a group game night at the Center, where people are encouraged to bring their favorite board games and tabletop games. Monthly: First Friday of Every Month | 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Q Youth is a weekly every thursday group for LGBTQ+ youth between 6th and 12th grade! This is an informal social gathering (not therapy) where we hold fun, safe space for LGBTQIA+ youth in middle and high school to eat snacks, play games, socialize, and hang out. Time: 6:00 – 8:00pm.
Every fourth Monday, 6:00pm to 8:00pm, the Ace and Aro Support Group meets! This is a safe, affirming space for folks under the umbrella of Asexual or Aromantic, who may feel no sexual attraction, no romantic attraction, or both. This critical new group meets in the library at the Gala Pride & Diversity Center.
6:00pm-7:30 pm, an LGBTQ Grief Support Group meets through Hospice SLO County, alternating between Zoom meetings and in-person every week. This support group for the LGBTQ+ community is designed to provide emotional support and education about the grief process and to bring comfort through connecting with like-minded individuals. Grief can manifest over many things, from death to losing a loved one due to their lack of affirmation. This group will meet on the 2nd Saturday of each month at a different location with different activities each time. Description: Alcoholics Anonymous is a voluntary, worldwide fellowship of folks from all walks of life who meet together to attain and maintain sobriety. We are a safe place for trans* and gender non-conforming people, as well as those questioning. The group is restricted to those between the ages of 11 and 18. This is a facilitated informal support group (not therapy) where we hold fund, safe space for trans and non-binary youth. It is a safe place to be heard, to share your story, and to hear stories that may sound surprisingly like your own, to eat snacks, play games, socialize, and hang out. This group focuses on advocating for LGBT seniors by promoting inclusive environments that are both aware and affirming. It also is focused on developing a community that supports intergenerational activities among LGBT individuals. LGBTQIA+ community members and allies are invited to come together and build connections through a fun and inclusive game night. (1060 Palm St, San Luis Obispo, CA 93401) Description: Intersectional LGBTQ-friendly Dungeons & Dragons group for tabletop roleplaying fun. R-DnD welcomes players of all experience levels looking to play the 5th edition of DnD in a friendly, low-pressure, and LGBTQ+-affirming setting. No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided for game play. Sessions are organized through Discord and will run on one Saturday per month. A quorum of three committed players is required for games to run. Description: This club meets for a discussion of books, poetry, and plays mostly written by gay authors. They watch occasional films and discuss how the content of the literature they read relates to their lives as gay men.
