Little Riders Equestrian Program
Hosted by
Jack's Helping Hand
Little Riders is an adaptive horseback-riding program that is specifically designed for children aged 4-21 with physical and cognitive disabilities. Equine therapy programs have been shown to help improve balance, strength, and coordination, resulting in increased mobility, independence, and overall function in children with disabilities. Our program focuses on the benefits of working with horses and horseback riding. The lessons are held on Monday and Thursday afternoons (after 3:00 PM) in San Luis Obispo. No horse experience is required to help us, but we have a minimum age of 15. Lessons are led by Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) registered therapeutic riding instructors and a team of trained volunteers. Together, they create an encouraging setting where children can experience the miracles of working with horses.
