A thorough demo & explanation of the essential techniques to create probiotic foods at home. Curtido and sauerkraut are both cabbage ferments which can be tailored to personal preferences. Increase your favorite spices and herbs or leave out anything that you don’t enjoy. Curtido is a Salvadoran condiment that features onions, garlic and oregano. Each class participant will make and take home their own jar filled with organic produce on its way to becoming a nutrient-dense ferment! Leave class with the confidence and knowledge to create more at home! The proceeds from this class will be donated to One Cool Earth, a local nonprofit that builds, creates and sustains outdoor learning environments across San Luis Obispo County, using school gardens and community spaces as living classrooms.
