Activities
September 15, 2025 @ 5pm. This Photo Contest is being run in conjunction with the 2025 Central Coast Railroad Festival (CCRRF). You may submit photos (per the rules below) beginning now until the deadline (September 15, 2025 @ 5pm). For more information about general Festival activities at the Museum, see last year's 2024 Railroad Festival Schedule for an example. Through this contest, the SLO Railroad Museum is looking for photos with which to promote the Museum's mission of preserving the railroad history of the area. Winning photos will help elicit a desire to visit the Museum to see more. Photos should include railroad-related content from within the Central Coast of California (roughly San Luis Obispo County and northern Santa Barbara County). Winning photographs will be displayed at the Museum for a year beginning at the 2025 Central Coast Railroad Festival. A brief presentation will be made to winning photographers at the Museum on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 10:25am. For example photos, see the 2024 Photo Contest Winners. There will be one first-place winner with a prize of $100, one second-place winner at $50, and one third-place winner given a free one-year membership to the Museum. October 3-5, 2025. San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties, California. The Central Coast Railroad Festival (CCRRF) is a broad-based festival that focuses on railroading of many types with an eye toward the beauty of the central coast of California. The Festival is designed to attract the attention of avid and casual rail fans as well as curious folks from across the Western United States. It presents historical, educational, and recreational events for local citizens, the area's large population of second home owners, and visitors. The visibility of all local rail entities as well as railroading in general is elevated and enhanced by the Festival. A cooperative spirit is developed among all participating organizations to promote their mutual well being and to expand interest in all things rail! Calling all Participant and Sponsors If you'd like to be a Participant or Sponsor or are interested in developing a program for the upcoming Railroad Festival, please email our Director at Conductor@CCRRF.com.
