While Cal Poly is in session, we hold Shabbat dinners every week. We primarily host students but welcome all community members to join. During any breaks (i.e. winter, spring, and summer break) please email office@chabadslo.com to see if there is a dinner. Shabbat Dinner Times: Winter: 6:30 pm, Summer 7:30 pm. You can always email Sophie at office@chabadslo.com to ensure there are no changes. We hold dinner in our tent, and at night it can be a little chilly, so please dress appropriately. We get many students for Friday night dinner, so please expect a lively and energetic atmosphere, rather than a more quiet evening. Greeters and ushers, called hospitality ministers, not only welcome people to Mass, but also assist throughout the mass. Most greeters help usher and assist with the collection. With seven masses every weekend and four sets of doors, we can always use ministers! Join us for farm care activities, which may include planting, field preparations, painting, and more! We welcome volunteers of all ages & skill levels! Firstfruits Farm SLO is a working farm and we'll be playing in the dirt. Closed-toe shoes are required. We recommend volunteers wear long pants and dress in layers for the weather. Working in conjunction with the SLO County Food Bank, Open Arms Pantry provides food to those in need every Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 am, and throughout the week on a walk-in basis. 9:30 am every Saturday. Social Hour is a single-session manners and socialization training class for puppies age 10 weeks to 5 months. Classes are ongoing. We will teach some basic puppy manners, using positive reinforcement, including “sit” “down” and “come.” Your puppy will also gets tips on how to walk nicely on the leash without pulling and greet people without jumping. We’ll show you how to inhibit your puppy's bite during play and how to manage chewing and the crazy “zoomies.” If you are struggling with food or object guarding, housetraining, or any other issues, our experienced dog training staff will be available to help you through any of these puppy behaviors.
