This class continues and builds on our introduction to karate classes and is designed for those who have attained white or yellow belt status in our system or other systems of karate. Study is a little more demanding with introduction to approximately nine more forms. Kicking, punching, blocking and stances become more precise and functional as these moves and the katas are more refined. Students are introduced to both individual and paired self-defense drills as well as proper falling techniques. Physical fitness is continued as are opportunities to study and expand on one's own journey into self-defense techniques. Intermediate classes are offered Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 PM. Class is held in the Centennial Park Banquet Room B on Mondays and Thursdays and in the Centennial Park Acorn Room on Tuesdays. Classes are taught by internationally ranked 7th degree Okinawan black belt Ted Jacobson of Shorin-Ryu Karate.
