Calligraphy with Brush Pens Workshop

February 21st from 10am-12pm, 1pm-3pm. $60. Learn the art of brush pen lettering in this welcoming workshop designed for everyone from complete beginners to returning practitioners. Learn how to create expressive script with thick and thin strokes using pressure and release techniques. You'll explore both uppercase and lowercase letters, practice spacing with short phrases, and discover how to scale and stretch this versatile style for headlines, posters, envelopes, and greeting cards. All materials are provided, and the first four registrants receive a bound handbook to take home. Perfect for adding a personal, colorful touch to your creative projects. We will take an hour for lunch and give your hand a rest. Taught by Mary Lou Johnson, award winning artist & calligrapher, member of the LA Society for Calligraphy. A prolific artist, Mary Lou creates hand lettered art, cards, wedding invites, social stationery, custom illustrations, and handmade books. Her local body of work includes creating the SLO Famers' Market Logo, Morro Bay Harvest Festival Poster and several La Fiesta Logos.
