Science After Dark is a lecture series at the Central Coast Aquarium. An evening for those 21 and older, held on the last Tuesday of each month, January through May. May's event features Margot Kandarian, an Oyster Farmer and owner of Flying Colors Co. mobile oyster bar. Margot will be providing and shucking fresh oysters as an appetizer! Come learn about the life cycle of oysters and local aquaculture in Morro Bay, as well as other methods of oyster aquaculture used in the Pacific Northwest, on the East Coast, and in France. Volunteer at the Central Coast Aquarium! Our preference is to maintain long-term volunteers that can learn and grow with our ever changing facility. However, we value those of you that are only here short-term for school and welcome all that are interested in the Central Coast Aquarium. We ask that volunteers commit to one 3.5 hour shift per week (exceptions made for school program department). Based on availability, this hourly commitment may increase or decrease depending on the exact volunteer position and needs of the organization.
