Friday Afternoon, May 23, 2025.Entry Cost: $15 for all 3 searches, cash or check at the door. Like a Sniff & Go, but just containers! We will have 3 container searches set up, plus warm up boxes in the back parking lot. $15 for all 3 searches, but only cash or check at the door. Run order is first come, first served. Names will be written on a white board, please no dogs at check in table. Waivers to be signed upon check in. Handler’s choice on known or unknown number of hides. All searches will be timed. Judge’s notes will be available if desired. Distractors will be used in at least one search. This is a quick and fun way to get some container practice before the summer trial season! At $5 a search, it’s also a bargain! Arrival 3:15 PM, first searches 3:30 PM. We will go until around 5:30 or so, depending on demand. Please park in the back lot behind the training center. When you have finished your searches, you are free to go. NACSW rules will be followed, so please keep a minimum of 8 feet between dogs. No dog congregations in the parking lot. Refined manners encompass a wide range of behaviors that elevate your dog's presence in any situation. Our Refined Manners Class focuses on essential skills such as polite greetings, calm leash walking, impeccable table manners, and respectful interactions with people and other dogs. Elementary Clicker Class is a 6-week class, plus an online Orientation that you can watch in the comfort of your home. This is a basic dog training class that is held in a safe, indoor location. With positive reinforcement, we'll mark the desired behavior with clickers. We will begin the class learning how to connect with our best friend. In addition, we’ll be teaching our dogs about self-control. We will work on basic behaviors and cover good manners cues such as "wait" and "leave-it," and some fun tricks like shake and spin. In addition, we will discuss problem-solving techniques for dealing with typical dog behaviors that most people find a bit challenging (how to deal with jumping on people, barking, chewing, digging). We’ll also show you techniques to help your dog be comfortable with handling (grooming, bathing, etc.). These are small group classes for dogs with aggressive behaviors. Because we have worked with many individuals who have dogs with aggressive behaviors (whether with other dogs or with people); we have discovered that many clients would like additional help beyond the basic consultation and instructions. This 6-week course is designed to help you continue more advanced clicker training techniques, fine-tune your dog’s existing behaviors, and provide an opportunity for an AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) evaluation. Now that you and your dog understand the basics of operant conditioning and your dog has become “clicker wise”, the real fun begins! In this course, we will be learning 3 new tricks each week for the first 3 weeks, and in the last week, we will all show off what we’ve learned! This class is perfect for therapy dogs and pet dogs. During this developmental stage, most dogs will grow too close to adult size and yet are still working with the attention span of a youngster and are very easily distracted. Many handlers can find this developmental stage frustrating as it relates to training. Plus, fear periods and destructive behavior increase during this developmental stage, so continued training is critical. This class is designed to continue your dog’s socialization, introduce your dog to new things, and teach self-control. Class Dates: 6/25/25 7/02/25 7/09/25 7/16/25.
