Ages 15 yrs to 99 yrs, Mixed. Apr 26, 2025 - May 4, 2025, Weekend 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM. Class Objective: The Lifeguard Course provides training in the skills required to be proficient in Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid. The course includes instruction of in-water Lifeguard skills, First Aid to meet the State of California Title 22 requirements, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. At the end of this course each participant who passes the written and practical examinations will receive an American Red Cross certification in Lifeguarding/First Aid/ CPR/AED and First Aid for Public Safety Personnel. An additional $53.00 fee will need to be submitted at the end of the course for certifications. Classes are held on Saturdays and Sundays for a two-week session. 4th Tuesday of each month until May. Location: SLO Swim Center 902 Southwood Drive, San Luis Obispo, California 93401.Storytime: 11:00 am to 11:30 pm. Swim Play: 11:30 am to 1:20 pm. Children learn naturally when they read, sing, talk, and play! Our interactive Storytime combines reading, swimming, and fun for children of all ages. Storytime will focus on water safety books like (Llama, Llama Learns to Swim, Rande’s First Swim, Froggy Learns to Swim, and many more). Come down to Reader’s Reef for a fun Storytime and water play. All children who participate in the Learn, Swim, and Grow in the H2O Storytime, will have the opportunity to stay and swim for free at the SLO Swim Center’s noon therapy pool hours from 11:30 to 1:20 pm. Parents will need to pay for entry to the pool. May 27, 2025, will be the last Learn Swim Grow in the H2O before taking a break for the summer months.
