Matches are held on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Check our website for details. Sign up begins at 8:30 am and the match begins at 9:00 am. Match fees are: $7.00 for High Power, $3.00 for 22’s (exact change is appreciated.) We shoot the 50 round National Championship course, which consists of: 10 rounds slow fire standing, 10 rounds rapid fire sitting or kneeling, 10 rounds rapid fire prone, and 20 rounds slow prone. The match is open to any centerfire rifle with iron sights capable of firing 10 rounds in 60 seconds with a reload. We have two divisions for scoring: Service Rifle — any military rifle (preferably US) with original issue-type sights, and Match Rifle — anything else.
Black Powder Matches are held on the first Sunday of the month at 9:00 am. We shoot long rifles and pistols from 25 to 100 yards. Visit our website for more information.
To book our hunter education courses, you must visit the California Department of Fish & Wildlife website to register (choose ‘California Traditional Hunter Education’). Each course consists of 2 sessions: Tuesday 5:00 pm — 10:00 pm and Saturday 7:00 am — 12:00 pm. Students are instructed in firearm safety, sportsmanship, and firearm handling and operation. The Hunter Education class meets at the Santa Lucia Sportsmen’s Gun Club. Located at 10400 Santa Clara Road in Atascadero. Students must attend both sessions for certification. Manuals will be supplied during the first meeting. A payment of $12.00 to the SLSA Gun Club will be collected at that time.
