Social Activities in San Luis Obispo
UUSLO provides free food to those in need every Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 pm in the Social Hall. We provide a pantry service where people may choose from the products available that week. Member volunteers run the pantry. The team takes care of: picking up bulk amounts of food from the Food Bank and delivering to UUSLO (a truck or van is helpful), setting it up on tables for people to choose what they want, guiding people as they arrive and go through food area, cleaning the area afterwards (putting tables away, wiping counters, etc). Every Wednesday from 4:30– 7:00pm at First Presbyterian Church SLO. Wednesdays at the Rock is a free program for kids in 6th grade or younger. Each week we will have Bible Lessons, Music, Crafts, Gym Time, Dinner, and Fellowship. Service opportunities will also be a part of our program. Wednesdays at the Rock is a safe place for all kids. This year we will have two groups. Group 1 will be for the younger kids and Group 2 will be for the older kids. We will spend time together and time for each group to have age-appropriate activities. All kids are welcome!

All Jr. High and High School students are invited to join our youth group. We teach through the Word of God, book by book in order that the youth receive the full counsel of God. We also recognize a need to teach topical at times knowing that this is an age in which these youth are presented with many tough choices and issues like peer pressure, dating, evolution and many other topics that arise in a young teen’s life. With these issues and choices before a junior higher’s path, it’s through the Word of God and the leading of His Spirit that a young teen can find his/her way. As a group we want to be doers of the Word and not just hearers. This group meets Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8 in the Youth Room.
