Meets: Every Thursday from 6:00pm-8:00pm in the Life Center at New Life Church Pismo Beach. Join us as we study God’s Word and enjoy meaningful worship and fellowship as a group of friends.

Tue from 6:00pm – 7:30pm & Thu from 6:00pm – 7:30pm. For ages 13 yrs – Adult. This class is for high-intermediate through advanced dancers studying a minimum of two ballet classes per week (Ballet 3 & up). The class is rigorous, demanding advanced technique, artistry, and musicality. Instructor: Theresa Slobodnik. $20 per class

Class session is Jul 1, 2025 - Jul 29, 2025. Adult karate is a twofold class, devoted to introducing adults to Shorin-Ryu karate as well as providing a teaching and learning environment for our brown and black belts. Study for the adults will start with a basic karate etiquette, terminology, blocks, punches, kicks and stances, kicking techniques, stretching and exercise, basic routines and an introduction to the kata/forms. With 21 kata forms, students have a number of years to be introduced to and learn to perform these historical self-defense systems as they move up in ability and knowledge. For our instructors, as well as the brown and black belts, we will look in depth at our curriculum including self-defense, Yakusoto kumite and kumite drills, kata presentation, interpretation and application. Classes are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 PM. Class is held in the Centennial Park Banquet Room B on Mondays and Thursdays and in the Centennial Park Acorn Room on Tuesdays. Classes are under the supervision of internationally ranked 7th degree Okinawan black belt Ted Jacobson of Shorin-Ryu Karate. Our Home Groups create a close-knit community of believers within the church who gather regularly in a comfortable and welcoming home setting. They provide a space for authentic relationships, spiritual growth, and mutual support among their members. Individuals and families come together to study the Bible, pray, worship, and share life experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and deeper connections. The intimate setting of a home group allows for open and honest conversations where individuals can share their joys, struggles, and questions, receiving support and encouragement from fellow believers. Beyond the study of God's Word, our home groups offer opportunities for fellowship and acts of service. Additionally, they seek ways to serve their local community, reaching out with compassion and meeting the needs of those around them. Through these acts of service, the home group becomes an extension of Christ's love in action, making a positive impact in the lives of others. Dancers not ready for the intermediate level material are welcome to use the first hour for warm-up and practice.
