While Cal Poly is in session, we hold Shabbat dinners every week. We primarily host students but welcome all community members to join. During any breaks (i.e. winter, spring, and summer break) please email office@chabadslo.com to see if there is a dinner. Shabbat Dinner Times: Winter: 6:30 pm, Summer 7:30 pm. You can always email Sophie at office@chabadslo.com to ensure there are no changes. We hold dinner in our tent, and at night it can be a little chilly, so please dress appropriately. We get many students for Friday night dinner, so please expect a lively and energetic atmosphere, rather than a more quiet evening. Ages 18-25ish. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month from 6:30-8:30pm at Berean Bible Church (310 North Halcyon Road, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420) The purpose of this ministry is to help young adults follow Jesus, by nurturing a growing love for Him and His Church. Whether they are on campus, on the job, or at home, we desire to equip and exhort this generation to live boldly as lights in the world. Our evening together consists of a game/activity, expository teaching, and fellowship. Additionally, there are special events occurring all throughout the year. Meets Fridays at 6:30 pm at The Den in SLO, CA. We’re forming a Life Group for young men with one purpose: to hold each other accountable and provide encouragement as we navigate the challenges of lustful desires. We believe there are far too many young men who feel alone in this struggle, unable to express their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgment. This group is designed to be a safe, judgment-free zone where you can open up, share, and be heard. Together, we’ll create an atmosphere of honesty, support, and accountability—lifting one another up and guiding each other toward the right path. Every Friday, 6:30–8:30pm PDT. Shoreline Calvary, 2050 Ironwood Ave, Morro Bay, CA 93442. Every Friday night from 6:30-8pm, we gather as a youth group to grow in our relationship with Jesus through Bible study and fellowship. Middle Schoolers and High Schoolers meet separately, but occasionally they combine for part or all of the evening. On a typical Friday night, we will play a fun, interactive game for 30 minutes, then we transition to studying God’s word together. After Bible study, we will then again enjoy some fun games and fellowship with one another. Our vision is to guide students in the process of being devoted disciples of Christ, through the studying of the Word and deepening relationships with others.
Meets weekly on Fridays from 6:30-9 pm. This group takes place at Shelby Edgrens's house in SLO. Gatherings currently include dinner, fellowship, sermon discussions, and prayer. Wildlife Hotline Volunteers are the front line in our efforts to support wildlife—like a 911 dispatcher of sorts. They are problem solvers who use a variety of resources to respond to questions and find help for wildlife in need. Hotline volunteers answer the Hotline either live or by checking the Hotline voicemail. Shifts are offered between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, 7 days a week, every day of the year. Hotline volunteers are supported by staff and online resources. They should be able to communicate calmly and courteously with callers who may be highly emotional, be able to use a computer, be well organized and detail-oriented, and have excellent interpersonal skills. Offered Thursday to Sunday with different timing. In Level 4, swimmers work on building up to multiple pool lengths of each stroke and learn the fundamentals of butterfly. Students also learn some competitive aspects of swimming, including turns, starts, and individual medley. Must haves: Barracuda skills, ability to swim freestyle for a distance of 100+ feet, ability to swim backstroke for a distance of 50+ feet, and ability to swim breaststroke for a distance of 50+ feet. Project Surf Camp (PSC) is a charitable organization designed to educate individuals with special needs. Our mission is to build self confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy, and we provide opportunities to build social skills, improve physical fitness, develop healthy outlets for stress reduction, and foster independence.Our surf camps take place from June 11,2025 - July 12, 2025 between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Camp days are split into half-day sessions of 4-hours each.We focus on specialist intervention and providing individual feedback and support. Camps will be held at Morro Rock Beach near the Morro Creek outlet (Arrive first at Coleman Park on the Embarcadero, along the Harbor Walk, and we will caravan together to the beach).
