By assisting our dedicated Warehouse Staff, you'll help ensure that fresh produce, pantry staples, and no-cook items reach those who need them most. This small group gathering provides support for expectant and postpartum parents/caregivers in nurturing their mental, emotional, and physical well-being. We’ll create a safe space where attendees can connect, reflect, and grow through their shared and lived experience of pregnancy into parenthood. The group meets in the natural setting of the Children’s Garden at the SLO Botanical Garden. This event will offer guest speakers, guided journaling, peer support, and facilitated discussions, all rooted in evidence-based care and holistic wellness. Registration is $60. Our surf lessons are available year-round! We offer Morro Bay surf lessons at all ages, skill, and ability levels; we have four primary categories: Fundamental, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Lessons are 1.5 hours long and provide all the gear you need, including Surfboard, Wetsuit, and Instructor. All surf lessons are private, so it will be just you, your family or friends and the instructor. Lesson start times are 10 am, 12:15 pm, and 2:30 pm. We teach surf lessons in Morro Bay everyday. We also teach surf lessons in Cayucos as well. All of our surfing locations are between 18-22 minutes west of San Luis Obispo. Depending on current surf conditions, location may vary to make sure we are surfing the best waves possible. Prices range from $75-120 per lesson. Friends of the Elephant Seal docents are volunteer guides who are happy to answer your questions and help you to better understand your observations at the Piedras Blancas rookery. We are open to volunteers who live in the area full-time and are flexible in working with out-of-town residents who can commit to a once a month Central Coast weekend. After completing training, docents are also invited to participate in other volunteer opportunities, such as serving as a Visitor Center Guide, providing outreach through the Speakers Bureau or collaborating with the Community Science team.
