Shower the People (STP) is a mobile shower program that provides free hot showers and new underwear and socks, toothpaste/toothbrushes and combs to the homeless in San Luis Obispo and in Grover Beach. You may have noticed STP’s big blue shower trailer in our UUSLO parking lot every Tuesday and Thursday. 9:00am - 2:00pm. First Wednesday of every month, 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Join us for a Plant Based Vegan and Vegan-Curious Potluck! Everyone Welcome! Where: SLO Unitarian Universalists, 2201 Lawton Ave, San Luis Obispo. Come to enjoy a great meal, learn more about the many benefits of plant-based eating, and network with others with similar interests. Please bring a plant-based dish to share: any appetizer, main dish, salad, dessert, side dish or quick store-purchased food will do. UUSLO provides free food to those in need every Wednesday from 3 to 4:30 pm in the Social Hall. We provide a pantry service where people may choose from the products available that week. Member volunteers run the pantry. The team takes care of: picking up bulk amounts of food from the Food Bank and delivering to UUSLO (a truck or van is helpful), setting it up on tables for people to choose what they want, guiding people as they arrive and go through food area, cleaning the area afterwards (putting tables away, wiping counters, etc).
