Every Monday, 6:30 – 7:30pm. For ages 11 yrs - Adult. This class is for female dancers who maintain a minimum of two Ballet 3 or Intermediate classes per week and can demonstrate both a comprehensive knowledge and proficient application of classical ballet technique. The class develops pointe technique with correct placement and épaulement, with emphasis on lifted transitions ascending to and descending from pointe, and a musical, pleasing aesthetic. Central Coast Youth Environmental Stewardship (CC YES) Program. CC YES is a FREE adventure-based, environmental and climate literacy program for middle school students from groups that are underrepresented in the outdoors and STEM: Programs run Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. Sessions include: June 16-20; June 23-37; and June 30 - July 3. Groups are kept at a 15 participant maximum. Our experience-based learning includes Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and NOAA’s Essential Principles of Climate Literacy, leadership skills, traditional ecological knowledge, hands-on learning, and outdoor adventures. Activities include hiking, kayaking, nature journaling, hands-on learning, and more! Participants will visit various locations throughout San Luis Obispo County including: Downtown San Luis Obispo (Terrace Hill, Bishop’s Peak and Cerro San Luis); City Farm SLO and Prefumo Creek Trail; Los Osos Creek Wetlands Preserve; Montaña de Oro State Park; Morro Bay (estuary, Black Hill, kayaking in the bay); Avila Beach and Cal Poly Center for Coastal Marine Sciences pier.
