Join with other mothers as we pray to grow in holiness and humility and for our children’s faithful return to the Catholic Church. This event takes place every Tuesday at St. William's Parish (6410 Santa Lucia Road, Atascadero, CA 93422) from 6-7pm.
We are a safe place for trans* and gender non-conforming people, as well as those questioning. The group is restricted to those between the ages of 11 and 18. This is a facilitated informal support group (not therapy) where we hold fund, safe space for trans and non-binary youth. It is a safe place to be heard, to share your story, and to hear stories that may sound surprisingly like your own, to eat snacks, play games, socialize, and hang out. Class session is Jun 2, 2025 - Jun 30, 2025. Adult karate is a twofold class, devoted to introducing adults to Shorin-Ryu karate as well as providing a teaching and learning environment for our brown and black belts. Study for the adults will start with a basic karate etiquette, terminology, blocks, punches, kicks and stances, kicking techniques, stretching and exercise, basic routines and an introduction to the kata/forms. With 21 kata forms, students have a number of years to be introduced to and learn to perform these historical self-defense systems as they move up in ability and knowledge. For our instructors, as well as the brown and black belts, we will look in depth at our curriculum including self-defense, Yakusoto kumite and kumite drills, kata presentation, interpretation and application. Classes are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 PM. Class is held in the Centennial Park Banquet Room B on Mondays and Thursdays and in the Centennial Park Acorn Room on Tuesdays. Classes are under the supervision of internationally ranked 7th degree Okinawan black belt Ted Jacobson of Shorin-Ryu Karate.
