June 16-18, 2025. 9:00am-3:00pm.Ages 9-15. Cost: $295. Learn to sew and bring your ideas to life! This hands-on camp is a great introduction to using a sewing machine. Campers will start with the basics and will leave camp with their own pair of pajama pants they made themselves! Along the way, they’ll make smaller projects like scrunchies, tote bags, or pillows, building skills and confidence as they go. This class is perfect for beginners. This our 59th year having fun at Camp Tacanneko. Camp Tacanneko is a week-long traditional day camp experience for girls and boys in K-11th grade. Hours are 9:30 am - 1 pm. Friends of the Elephant Seal docents are volunteer guides who are happy to answer your questions and help you to better understand your observations at the Piedras Blancas rookery. We are open to volunteers who live in the area full-time and are flexible in working with out-of-town residents who can commit to a once a month Central Coast weekend. After completing training, docents are also invited to participate in other volunteer opportunities, such as serving as a Visitor Center Guide, providing outreach through the Speakers Bureau or collaborating with the Community Science team. Our surf lessons are available year-round! We offer Morro Bay surf lessons at all ages, skill, and ability levels; we have four primary categories: Fundamental, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Lessons are 1.5 hours long and provide all the gear you need, including Surfboard, Wetsuit, and Instructor. All surf lessons are private, so it will be just you, your family or friends and the instructor. Lesson start times are 10 am, 12:15 pm, and 2:30 pm. We teach surf lessons in Morro Bay everyday. We also teach surf lessons in Cayucos as well. All of our surfing locations are between 18-22 minutes west of San Luis Obispo.
