Capslo Adult Day Center provides adult day care for seniors with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia and respite for their family caregivers. Capslo Adult Day Center is located in Paso Robles and is open Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm. Individuals must be 18 years or older to volunteer at this location. Opportunities include: being a client companion, by providing one-on-one interaction with an elderly client; being a music volunteer; and assisting clerical staff with filing, mailings, and data entry. Project Surf Camp (PSC) is a charitable organization designed to educate individuals with special needs. Our mission is to build self confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy, and we provide opportunities to build social skills, improve physical fitness, develop healthy outlets for stress reduction, and foster independence.Our surf camps take place from June 11,2025 - July 12, 2025 between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Camp days are split into half-day sessions of 4-hours each.We focus on specialist intervention and providing individual feedback and support. Camps will be held at Morro Rock Beach near the Morro Creek outlet (Arrive first at Coleman Park on the Embarcadero, along the Harbor Walk, and we will caravan together to the beach). Come learn about a few common bird species that live on the Santa Margarita Ranch, with a focus on Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, and Red-tailed Hawks. Together, we will take a walk on the wild side while we gain an understanding of the role that these organisms play in the Ranch ecosystem. We will learn how to identify these birds using sight and sound and find out why they are so famous. Let's uncover some of the mystery surrounding their lives! This tour includes a scenic ¾-mile hike with minimal elevation gain. If you have mobility concerns, we can happily accommodate as long as weather and road conditions permit. Our surf lessons are available year-round! We offer Morro Bay surf lessons at all ages, skill, and ability levels; we have four primary categories: Fundamental, Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. Lessons are 1.5 hours long and provide all the gear you need, including Surfboard, Wetsuit, and Instructor. All surf lessons are private, so it will be just you, your family or friends and the instructor. Lesson start times are 10 am, 12:15 pm, and 2:30 pm. We teach surf lessons in Morro Bay everyday. We also teach surf lessons in Cayucos as well. All of our surfing locations are between 18-22 minutes west of San Luis Obispo. Depending on current surf conditions, location may vary to make sure we are surfing the best waves possible. Prices range from $75-120 per lesson.
