Project Surf Camp (PSC) is a charitable organization designed to educate individuals with special needs. Our mission is to build self confidence, self-esteem, and self-efficacy, and we provide opportunities to build social skills, improve physical fitness, develop healthy outlets for stress reduction, and foster independence.Our surf camps take place from June 11,2025 - July 12, 2025 between 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Camp days are split into half-day sessions of 4-hours each.We focus on specialist intervention and providing individual feedback and support. Camps will be held at Morro Rock Beach near the Morro Creek outlet (Arrive first at Coleman Park on the Embarcadero, along the Harbor Walk, and we will caravan together to the beach). Come learn about a few common bird species that live on the Santa Margarita Ranch, with a focus on Bald Eagles, Golden Eagles, and Red-tailed Hawks. Together, we will take a walk on the wild side while we gain an understanding of the role that these organisms play in the Ranch ecosystem. We will learn how to identify these birds using sight and sound and find out why they are so famous. Let's uncover some of the mystery surrounding their lives! This tour includes a scenic ¾-mile hike with minimal elevation gain. If you have mobility concerns, we can happily accommodate as long as weather and road conditions permit.
