Volunteers in this role set up a table with hygiene products and towels at 3:45 PM in order to be ready to sign folks up at 4 PM when the site opens to the public. At 4 PM, guests will begin to arrive and volunteers sign up interested individuals for the shower program, and make sure they have a towel and shampoo, conditioner, and soap. The last shower guest can enter at 5:15 PM and needs to be out of the shower at 5:30 PM. This class continues and builds on our introduction to karate classes and is designed for those who have attained white or yellow belt status in our system or other systems of karate. Study is a little more demanding with introduction to approximately nine more forms. Kicking, punching, blocking and stances become more precise and functional as these moves and the katas are more refined. Students are introduced to both individual and paired self-defense drills as well as proper falling techniques. Physical fitness is continued as are opportunities to study and expand on one's own journey into self-defense techniques. Intermediate classes are offered Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5 to 6:30 PM. Class is held in the Centennial Park Banquet Room B on Mondays and Thursdays and in the Centennial Park Acorn Room on Tuesdays.
